Old Business:
Gary Roe donated $1000.00 towards GP series and free labor for building trophies.
Affordable Trophies will consider doing half of the
trophies if he can see the trophies prior to accepting the contract. Gary Roe
will deliver GP trophies and Jon Allred or Dan Jordan pick up the remainder of
the trophies at the banquet. Motion: Passed by officers.
There will be two different size of trophies with grand prix being larger due to donation of $1000.00 towards the grand prix series.
Need a special trophy for AA riders. 1st thru 3rd will get a plaque and a trophy
Letter from Lyon Payne, has not received the results or
medals from Mt. Scott ISDE. Only results that are available from the event are
from OMRA’s web site. Jim Allison from Mt. Scott will address this issue
Dec.4, 2004. Ellis Cookman will
follow up with Jim to see what will happen. Option will be to allow Mt. Scott
to mail the results and medal. If
not then OMRA will make an announcement not sanction their next point’s
event.
Gunny Claypool thanked everyone who donated dollars for the
ISDE Team.
Jon will write a letter to Frank Wildgrube thanking him
for his help as a referee and replacing him with Ellis Cookman.
Gunny Claypool offered to become an alternate referee.
Grand Prix: Need to finish 50% of event to receive
the checker flag.
Need new Newsletter information. Information from everyone is welcome. Contact Tom

Meeting was called to order my Joe Barrell Vice President.

Elections for Secretary and Treasure were open. Tom and Julie would do another term if voted in. There was an immediate approval to have them both stay on. Vote was taken and pass to have them both stay for another term
We had several guests, Kelly Foster and Lee Winslow form Oregon Department of Forestry. They were at the meeting to introduce themselves and if anyone had questions.
Another guest was Robert Randakovich out of Longview, Washington. They have 400 acres that they are willing to have events be held on. NORA has shown an interest in this facility and will look into holding an event.
There is a new club in Heppner, OR, called the Reload Ridge Riders. They will be hosting some events with Lobos this coming year. The events will be held out of Heppner at the OHV Park.
Lobos still have one vibrating tachometer for sale. The cost is $25.00 and you need to contact the Lobos if you have an interest.

ODF schedule a meeting to have events in the Tillamook State Forest. Clubs from motorcycle and 4-wheel drive attend. ODF won’t allow two major events in the forest at the same time. OMRA clubs were able to get the dates from the previous years.
Dan Jordan brought OMRA and signs for clubs to have to show that it is an OMRA event.
Some miscommunications from the Astorian newspaper. Four miles of mongo canyon is open and will remain open.

September minutes

1. Jon Allred raised the issue of referee
requirements. After discussion, it was unanimously decided that participation
is a requirement for being a referee. Tom will talk to Frank.
2. Danny raised the issue of signs. A motion was made to approve 10 OMRA signs
and 1 banner. After a second by Barrett the motion was unanimously approved.
3. Tom raised the issue of the newsletter and requested articles, etc.
4. Billy raised the issue of an EMT list and scheduling for Tillamook forest
on Sept 29. Tom will add it to the newsletter.
5. Ellis summarized the work he has been doing on the GP rule revisions.
6. Jim discussed ambulance costs.
7. Randy addressed the issue of no 250's in the 125 class.
8. Barrett summarized his activities over the past several months and was
thanked by the officers for his efforts.
9. The officers also discussed preparation for the banquet and Nov calendaring
meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:23 p.m.

Jon A to put in a grant for ATV dollars in the September meeting for ambulance service for clubs hosting events in Oregon. Jon will be working with Mike Law (West side OHV coordinator) in preparation of the grant.

Randy H. is having surgery today from an accident at the Funky Chicken.
Bruce Murdock is doing better and attended the last Grand Prix event.

Mt. Scott ISDE will be a two loop and cost will be $40.00
July meeting is canceled do to the 4th Of July holiday.

for MAY 2003

Bruce Murdock was hurt at Goldendale grand prix. Broken teeth and broken jaw. Possible surgery is in the forecast for him.
Motion: You cannot transfer points between classes. Pass
If a rider has a complaint at the Goldendale events please contact Ellis Cookman. He is planning on attending all events.
Motion: To update OMRA ISDE rule with AMA rules with the exception and approval from OMRA supplemental rules.
Jon Allred to contact MRA as to why the results aren’t out.
Newsletter next Thursday is lick and stick date.

Need to address a letter to OPRD asking why a clubs have to groom trails after an event when the ATV tags are paying for maintenance
Gunny Claypool has met with AMA and discuss some issues that Oregon has with them.
Proposal to have referees, marketing directors, pts. And membership director attend OMRA events.
OMRA MINUTES FOR APRIL 2003

Dan Jordan handed out packets to OMRA members at the Goldendale grand prix. The packets are for the grid. Dan will be handing out the cross-country packets at the Lobos ISDE event. You may also contact OMRA for your packet.
MXD out of Hood River has shown an interest to contribute to the grid
Motion: To allow a 42 man starting gate at Goldendale grand prix with a dead engine start until the. Rules are reviewed this year. Pass
Over the Bars Gang will be using a scanner device for scoring and will require the rider to pay $15.00. The $15.00 will be refunded the same day if the rider is only riding for the day. If the rider is riding for the series then the rider can keep the device until the end of the series. If the scanner hasn’t been misused then the dollars would be refunded at the end of the series. A manual back up scoring will be kept.
Tom has order s sound meter tester from NOHVCC. It is available to clubs whom belong to OMRA to use.
Lobos ISDE will be following FIM rules until OMRA updates the ISDE rules. Tom to put the changes on the web.
Motion: if you are an officer, pts. Director, membership, and referee you need to attend 80% of the OMRA functions.
Motion was defeated but will create a sub-committee for guidelines. And or rules

Old Business: Jon - A thanks everyone for helping at the OMRA banquet. He would like to see if we could shorten the banquet for next year. One idea is to have everyone in the class come up at one time for his or her year-end trophy. Next banquet date is February 7, 2003 at Oregon City Elks.
Jerry Morrell from COMAC was pleased with the banquet and felt welcome.
E.T.R.A. for the Funky Chicken will use a bar code for checking riders. All OMRA members must use their letter and number designation. Some concerns were mentioned about E.T.R.A. course markings. Ellis C. will contact Adam A. about OMRA concerns. Randy H. to draft a letter thanking E.T.R.A. for their effort on requiring OMRA letter and number designation, but remind them of the correct OMRA course markings need to be used to allow OMRA to sanction their event.
Jim Allison asked to see if OMRA would ask the ATV committee to pay for the price of an ambulance on site for events. Julie B. will be looking into this and report back to OMRA in March.
Oregon Dept. of Forestry has a new permit. They will not accept the old permit, so contact Randy Peterson or Clyde Zeller for the permit. ODF will e-mail you the correct form.
Proposal: Free entry to all OMRA events if you are 60 plus years young.

Randy Thomas has offered to do a news article after events and submit them to Cycle News.
Motion: To create a Marketing Committee to promote OMRA and off road opportunities.
Congratulations to DAN JORDAN AND RANDY THOMAS who graciously accept the position for marketing directors. In the background we will have Jon Allred and Tom Niemela working with Dan and Randy.

President Jon Allred goals for OMRA are to increase membership, increase benefits to OMRA members and to promote the activity. Jon has no ties to any promoters, shops or clubs. His goals for OMRA are to make it a stronger organization. Jon has been working with GI Joe’s and Amsoil to have a promotional offer for riders. Examples could be 10% discounts to GI Joe’s and Amsoil, free products and dollars donations for year end trophy. In return OMRA would allow GI Joe’s and Amsoil to advertise in the OMRA newsletter.
Lobos will not be offering a junior class at their event. If your child is planning on riding Lobos event then the parent must ride with them in the event. NO exception.
Tom has permission to spend up to $500.00 for prize giveaways for the banquet.
Tom to do calendars and has them available at the banquet.
Tom to do a billing to the clubs. Clubs should mail the monies back ASAP to allow the clubs to be on the calendar.
Randy Haugstad will do the membership and points for this year. He will be training others to take the position over next year.
We have a PBI Sprockets Award winner. The name of the winner will be announced at the OMRA banquet.
Ellis Cookman brought up that we need more current business cards. Ellis will be looking into the cost and design.
