About me:  My wife of 22 years, Susan and our 15 year old Reid, help me run our Timber Farm near North Plains.  Former UPS driver (20 years).

My favorite riding area:  Anywhere in the Tillamook State Forest.

My first bike:  '66 Honda QA 50.......My favorite:  A tie between my '02 KTM200 and my '70 Hodaka Ace 100.

When I first started riding:  Age 5.  I remember unpacking 4 small Hondas from the back of a 67 Volvo station wagon in Rogers Camp parking lot in 6 inches of snow.  All for a long day of sloshing down the power lines and cleaning wet and corroded points on those old bikes.

My riding experience:  Trail riding since age 5 (1966).  First competitive event was a one-time Washougal MX in '73 (embarrassing).  Next were a series of local trials in '74.  First Off Road event was the '80 Hangover Scrambles. Raced 34 events in 1984, (and little else that year).  I've raced all over the US. and in three other countries and  have learned that the Northwest is the best place in the world to own a dirt bike.

My favorite saying:  You know.....I'll bet you could get a bike through that.  Or: an unexamined life is not worth living.

Why I became an OMRA Officer:  Initially, because racing disputes and rules conflicts were beginning to overshadow the fun of racing in Oregon.  My other involvement with the OMRA is motivated by the fear that other kids may miss the kind of bonding opportunities I had trail riding with my family.

I'd also like to say:  Pitch in.  You may not be into joining a club or the whole public meeting scene, but your help is needed.  I'd like everyone to get in touch with a club that can help you identify at least one project a year in your riding area.  Get together with a couple buddies and spend one day a year giving something back to one of your riding areas.
